009-1 is a manga series by Shotaro Ishinomori serialized in Weekly Manga Action that was adapted into an anime series by Ishimori Entertainment.
The original manga written by Shotaro Ishinomori which was serialized in Weekly Manga Action from August 10th, 1967 through March 5th, 1970 with a total of 6 volumes was adapted into a 13 episode live action TV series titled Flower Action 009ノ1 that ran in 1969 from October 7th through December 30th on Fuji Television. In 2006, an anime adaptation was produced by Shotaro Ishimomori's studio Ishimori Entertainment 8 years after his death in 1998. The anime was directed by Naoyuki Konno and ran from October 5th through December 21st on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) and Animax with a total of 12 episodes plus a bonus DVD only episode. In 2007, the anime series was licensed by FUNimation Entertainment and released in English. On September 7th, 2013 a live-action Japanese film directed by Koichi Sakamoto based on the series was created named 009-1: The End of the Beginning.
Brief Plot Overview
The series stars Mylene Hoffman, a beautiful cyborg spy under the codename "009-1" who lives in an alternate world where the cold war never ended and was continuously on-going for 140 years. The world is split into two factions, the West and the East block. A masquerade of peace between the two is slowly dissipated as the conflict occurs. Through politics, the two factions battle over supremacy over technology to threats of a nuclear attack. Mylene Hoffman, teaming up with three other agent, gets surrounded by deception, chaos and rivalry as she carries out missions assigned by her superiors.

Mylene Hoffman is shown in her apartment on Christmas eve taking a Bubble Bath in a Flat Bathtub while having her Shower run on her. She ends up answering a call from her boss Number Zero asking her for her to report for duty. She then turns the shower off and gets out of the tub covered with soap suds and leaves the bathroom wearing a blue Bathrobe.
The assassin known as Egg who has a routine he always goes by reveals that he takes a shower at 6:00pm. Later on, while Mylene Hoffman was out in the rain, she takes an Off Screen Shower when arriving to her hotel room.

Mylene Hoffman is a female character who is the main protagonist of the series. In 009-1 episode 2, she is seen taking a Bubble Bath in a Flat Freestanding Bathtub while having a Shower run on her at the same time. In 009-1 episode 3, she takes an Off Screen shower in a hotel room after being out in the rain. The apartment Mylene is shown living in during episode 2 has a Shower Tub Combo with a flat freestanding bathtub and a golden Shower Head. Since Mylene is a cyborg, she has a Communication Device built into her which means that her boss Number Zero can contact her anytime for a mission even when she is bathing.
Egg is a male character from 009-1 episode 3. He is obsessed with his daily routine and says that he always takes a Shower every night at 6:00pm. He is never seen actually showering as they are all Off Screen but it is implied that he showered in the hotel that episode 3 was taking place in.
